FIRST Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. May peace and blessings be upon the Chief of the Messengers, Muhammad.

Indeed it is a great favour and blessing from Allah that He has made for His righteous servants periods of time within which they can increase in good deeds to attain great rewards and one of these opportunistic periods is the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah (the final month of the Islamic Calendar, in which the hajj is performed).

Superiority of the FIRST Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah

The excellence of these ten days have been mentioned in the Qur’ân and the Sunnah.

1. Allah says in the Qur’ân:

“By the dawn and by the ten nights … “ [Al-Qur'ân 89:1-2]

Ibn Kathîr said that “the ten nights” referred to here are the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, and this opinion was also held by Ibn Abbâs, Ibn az-Zubair, Mujâhid and others.

2. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:

“There are no deeds as excellent as those done in these ten days.” They (the companions listening) said, “Not even Jihâd?” He, peace be upon him, said, “No, not even Jihâd except a man who goes forth endangering his life and wealth and does not return with anything.” [Recorded by al-Imâm al-Bukhârî]

3. Allah says: ” … and remember the name of Allah in the appointed days.” [Al-Qur'ân 2:203]

Ibn Abbâs and Ibn Kathîr said this means in the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

4. The Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, said:

“There are no other days that are as great as these in the sight of Allah, the Most Sublime. Nor are there any deeds more beloved to Allah then those that are done in these ten days. So increase in tahlîl (to say lâ illaha illallah), takbîr (to say allahu akbar) and tahmîd (to say alhumdulillâh).” [Reported by at-Tabarânî in al-Mu'jum al-Kabîr]

5. With regards to the noble companion Saîd bin Jubair, when the days of Dhul-Hijjah began he would strive to increase in good actions with great intensity until he was unable to increase anymore. [Reported by ad-Dârimî]

6. Ibn Hajar says in Fath al-Bârî:

“The most apparent reason for the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah being distinguished in excellence is due to the assembly of the greatest acts of worship in this period, i.e. salawât (prayers), siyâm (fasting), sadaqah (charity) and the hajj (pilgrimage). In no other periods do these great deeds combine.“

What are the recommended acts in these days?

1. The Prayer – It is highly recommended to perform the obligatory acts at their prescribed times (as early as possible) and to increase oneself in the superogatory acts, for indeed, this is what brings a person closer to their Lord. The Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, said:

“Upon you is to increase in your prostration to Allah, for verily you do not prostrate to Allah with even one prostration, except that He raises you in degrees and decreases your sins because of it.” [Reported by Muslim]

2. Fasting – This has been mentioned as one of the acts of righteousness where Hanbada ibn Khâlid reports on the authority of his wife who reports that some of the wives of the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

The Prophet, upon whom be peace, would fast on the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah, the day of Âshûra and three days in every month. [Recorded by Ahmad, Abu Dâwûd, an-Nisâî and others]

Al-Imâm an-Nawawî said that fasting in these ten days is extremely recommended.



3. Saying allahu akbar; lâ illaha illallah and alhamdulillâh – It is found in the aforementioned narration of Ibn ‘Umar:

“So increase yourselves in saying lâ illaha illallah, allahu akbar and alhamdulillâh.”

Al-Imâm Bukhârî, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

“Ibn ‘Umar and Abû Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with them both, used to go out to the markets in the ten days saying the takbîr causing the people to follow them in this action.”

He also said:

“Umar ibn al-Khattâb used to say the takbîr in his minaret in Mina, whereupon the people of the mosque hearing ‘Umar, would start to say the takbîr as would the people in the markets until the whole of Mina was locked in glorifying Allah.”

Ibn ‘Umar used to say the takbîr in Mina during these ten days and after prayers, whilst on his bed, in his tent, in his gathering and whilst walking. What is recommended is to say the takbîr aloud due to the fact that ‘Umar ibn al-Khattâb, his son and Abû Hurayrah used to do likewise, may Allah be pleased with them all.

Strive with us O Muslims in reviving this sunnah that has become lost in these times and it was almost forgotten, even amongst the people of righteousness and goodness all of which is unfortunately in opposition to what the best of generations were upon (preserving and maintaining the superogatory acts).

There are a number of ways of making takbîr that have been narrated by the companions and their followers and from these ways is the following:

- Allahu akbar, allahu akbar, allahu akbar kabîrun.

- Allahu akbar, allahu akbar, lâ ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar, wallahu akbar, wa lillahil hamd.

- Allahu akbar, allahu akbar, allahu akbar, lâ ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar, allahu akbar wa lillâhil hamd.


4. Fasting on the day of ‘Arafah – Fasting has been affirmed on the day of ‘Arafah, where it has been confirmed from the Prophet, peace be upon him, that he said regarding fasting on the day of ‘Arafah:

“Be content with the fact that Allah will expiate for you your sins for the year before (the day of ‘Arafah) and the year after (the day of ‘Arafah).” [Reported by Muslim]

However, whoever is at ‘Arafah as a pilgrim then fasting is not expected of him, as the Prophet, peace be upon him, stopped at ‘Arafah to eat.

　　在人生的旅途中，我們有很多的時間都是在回憶中度過的，盡管回憶讓我們痛苦過，悲傷過，快樂過，幸福過。但更多是讓我們明白了很多的道理，人生沒有後悔藥，人生沒有回頭路，人生沒有刪除鍵。

　　曾經想忘記很多的不愉快，忘記很多的痛苦，忘記很多不值得回憶的事，


忘記很多不值得回憶的人。但心緒總在不定的時間裡想起不定的事，也許是在一剎那，也許只在一秒鐘，也許只在一轉身，也許只在一個眼神裡，也許只在一個笑容裡，所有的記憶就會像風一樣吹過心房，不是你想不想的問題，也不是你愛不愛的問題，它只是一種意念，剎那間的感動，剎那間的凝聚。

　　有人說，過去的就讓它永遠過去吧，希望總在前方。有些事的確是我們應該忘記的，它只能存在於你的心裡，是一種教訓，是一種經驗，亦是一種財富。

　　有人說，在感情的世界裡是沒有刪除鍵的，我很同意這種看法。因為感情這東西，的確讓人歡喜讓人憂。盡管有很多的人都在說，放棄是一種美麗，放棄是一種更深的愛。但我還是想對朋友說：“放棄應該放棄的感情是對自己也是對所愛的人最大的尊重，但同時也是對自己對所愛的人最大的一種傷害。如果為了尊重就放棄，如果為了傷害就不要放棄。”生命是無聲的，但我們的心卻是流動的。感情是強求不到的，也是可遇不可求的一種機遇。

　　在感情的世界裡，有你的快樂，有你的牽掛，有你的思念，有你的聲音，更有你的生命，所以你是幸福的。對一個有生命力的人來說，他永遠都是快樂的，而對一個懦弱的人來說，他永遠是痛苦的；對一個有生命力的人來說，他的生活富有激情和感動，對一個懦弱的人來說，他的生活永遠都沒有太多的色彩。總而言之，樂極生悲不足悲，最可悲的是從來不曾想快樂過，平平淡淡，平平安安是福是禍只有自己心裡最明白。

他不愛你、這段關係就沒意思。肯放手、就是愛自己

1、不要在一件彆扭的事上糾纏太久，糾纏久了，你會煩，會痛，會厭，會累，會神傷，會心碎。實際上，到最後，你不是跟事過不去，而是跟自己過不去。無論多彆扭，你都要學會抽身而退。不要因為去絕美風景的路上偶遇了一條臭水溝，而壞了欣賞美的心境，而耽誤了其它的美，要想想你為什麼來這裡。

2、很佩服這類女孩子：當她發現對方不是真心喜歡她，她可以立刻灑脫的分手。其他女人，可能會繼續自己騙自己，一個人苦撐。真正有智慧的女孩子明白愛情是怎麼一回事：愛情，要兩情相悅。你愛他，他不愛你，這段關係就沒意思。肯放手，就是愛自己。耐心一點，等待那個真正兩情相悅的人吧。

3、總有那麼一個人，不管他以前如何對你，你總會找到原諒他的理由。
4、單身意味著你足夠堅強，有足夠耐心去等待那個值得擁有你的人。
5、如果你討厭我，我一點也不介意，我活著不是為了取悅你。
6、當你認為自己一無所有時，至少你還有寶貴的時間。要有“勝敗兵家事不期，包羞忍恥是男兒。江東子弟多才俊，捲土重來未可知”的霸王氣魄！

7、如果我不在乎你，我不會為你笑；不會變得這麼脆弱；不會在意你做的每件事；不會靜靜的想著你發呆；不會記住你說的每句話；不會為你心痛；不會珍惜與你在一起的時候；不會總是不由自主的想起你；不會這麼輕易地讓痛苦折磨自己；不會為了一些小事跟你爭執；這一切只因為我在乎你……

8、每個男人一生中會有這樣兩個女人，一個留在一輩子裡偶爾想念，一個柴米油鹽裡過一輩子。女人們，你們願意做哪一種？

9、吵架說的話有90%都是假的。女生喜歡嘴硬，叫你走開，但你繼續哄下去她會很開心。女生一氣之下就跑，其實她很希望你在後面跟著她，要是沒看到有人她會很失望。她說習慣了，其實想讓你知道她失望透了，所以要說對不起，我改。女生有時候說分手，是因為知道你會挽回，所以要死皮賴臉去哄她，要讓她知道你還很愛她。

10、如果一個人向你表白，無論如何請珍惜他/她對你的愛，即使只能做普通朋友，或許一個人純真的表白不會再有第二次。也許，愛，不是尋找一個完美的人；而是，要學會用完美的眼光，欣賞一個不完美的人。牽了手，就不要隨便說分手。

11、幸福女人的十個密碼：一個你愛的人；兩個愛你的人；三分慵懶；四個朋友；五個工作日；六分浪漫；七分靈氣；八分智慧；九分獨立；十分熱情。

Halal and Haram

Remember Allah

"O ye who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance; and glorify Him morning and evening."
(Al Quran 41-42)

O ye who believe! Let not your wealth nor your children distract you from remembrance of Allah. Those who do so, they are the losers.
(Al Quran 63:9)

Shaytaan (Satan) has overpowered them. So he has made them forget the remembrance of Allah. They are the party of Shaytaan (Satan). Verily, it is the party of Shaytaan (Satan) that will be the losers!
(Al Quran 58:19)

For how long

for how long are we going to be heedless for the signs of All-llah Subhane wa ta’ala
For how long are we going to be busy with the Dunya
Busy making money,
chasing our dreams,
following our desires
We know my brothers and sisters that death is reality
you can’t run away from death
even if you were in a fortress with a wall built up high,
death is going to come and find you

Imagine your time is today,
What have you got to take back to Allah subhane wa ta’ala?
Have you repented for your sins?
For this temporary life,
you have given up eternal bliss
and eternal happiness!
life which never ends.

my dear brothers and sisters,
even if the hereafter was soil and mud
and this dunya was gold and silver,
still the hereafter would be better than this dunya
because it’s eternal

for reality is;
this dunya is mud and soil and the hereafter is gold and silver

we choose this life over the next.

Are we asleep?
Why are we walking around like headless chickens?
We will be brought to account.
On the day,
When everyone will be a stranger to another
when your best friend in this dunya will be a stranger to you in the next.

When your mother is going to abandon you just to save herself,
the day when every small action that you ever did, you will be shown.

and every atom weight of evil
My dear brothers and sisters
This is the promised day of Allah Subhane wa ta’ala

Doesn’t your heart tremble with fear?
Knowing that you’ll be brought to account?
And how you will die
And that’s how you will be raised
That day
When a child’s hair will turn grey due to the shock and fear
What will be your excuse on that day

When your limbs, your own legs
are going to give witness against you
When your lips are going to be sealed
And your legs are going to speak and say:
“Ya Allah, he made me walk to this Haram”
And your own hands are going to say:
“Ya Allah, he used me to touch this haram”

On that day
my dear brothers and sisters
there is no refuge
except with Allah Subane wa ta’ala
There is no escape
So take heed before your time is up,

Ask Allah Subhane wa ta’ala to make us amongst the Saabiquns,
the group of people who race each other to good deeds
And these people will be closest to Allah Subhane wa ta’ala in the next life.

The obedience necessary for us to gain admission into paradise,
And the unswerving faith necessary to minimise for us the tribulations in this world,

Oh Allah! Allow us to enjoy our hearing, our sight, and our strength for as long as we live,
And make that enjoyment our heir(so that the people that we have befitted could pray for us), and place our vengeance on those that have wronged us,And give us victory over our enemies,And try us not in our faith,
Neeither make this world our greates concern,or the extent of our knowledge,
Nor give power over us to those who would oppress us,

Oh Allah! Leave no sins of ours in this assembley unforgiven,
Nor any grief without being relieved,
Nor any debt without being paid,
Nor any difficulty in this life or the hereafter without being facilitated,

Oh the most merciful of all that is Merciful,
Our Lord! Give us the good of this world and the hereafter,And save us from the torment of the fire,

What is the ruling on fasting six days of Shawwaal? Is it waajib (obligatory)?

Praise be to Allaah.

Fasting six days of Shawwaal after the obligatory fast of Ramadaan is Sunnah Mustahabbah, not waajib. It is recommended for the Muslim to fast six days of Shawwaal, and in this there is great virtue and an immense reward. Whoever fasts these six days will have recorded for him a reward as if he had fasted a whole year, as was reported in a saheeh hadeeth from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Abu Ayyoob (may Allaah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever fasts Ramadaan and follows it with six days of Shawwaal, it will be as if he fasted for a lifetime.” (Narrated by Muslim, Abu Dawood, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nisaa’i and Ibn Maajah).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) explained this when he said: “Whoever fasts for six days after (Eid) al-Fitr has completed the year: (whoever does a good deed (hasanah) will have ten hasanah like it).” According to another report: “Allaah has made for each hasanah ten like it, so a month is like fasting ten months, and fasting six days completes the year.” (al-Nisaa’i and Ibn Maajah. See also Saheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb, 1/421). It was also narrated by Ibn Khuzaymah with the wording: “Fasting for the month of Ramadaan brings the reward of ten like it, and fasting for six days brings the reward of two months, and that is the fasting of the whole year.”

The Hanbali and Shaafa’i fuqaha’ explained that fasting six days of Shawwaal after fasting Ramadaan makes it as if one has fasted for an entire year of obligatory fasts, because the multiplication of the reward applies even to naafil fasts, because each hasanah brings the reward of ten like it.

Another of the important benefits of fasting six days of Shawwaal is that is makes up for any shortfall in a person's obligatory Ramadaan fasts, because no one is free of shortcomings or sins that have a negative effect on his fasting. On the Day of Resurrection, some of his naafil deeds will be taken to make up the shortcomings in his obligatory deeds, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The first thing for which people will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection will be their salaah (prayer). Our Lord, may He be glorified and exalted, will say to His angels – although He knows best – ‘Look at the salaah of My slave, whether it is complete or incomplete.’ If it is perfect, it will be recorded as perfect, and if something is lacking, He will say, ‘Look and see whether My slave did any voluntary (naafil) prayers.’ If he did some voluntary prayers, [Allaah] will say, Complete the obligatory actions of My slave from his voluntary actions.’ Then all his actions will be dealt with in a similar manner.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood).

Four Poisons of the Heart

1. Unnecessary Talking

Umar Ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "A person who talks too much is a person who often makes mistakes, and someone who often makes mistakes, often has wrong actions. The Fire has a priority over such a frequent sinner."

2. Unrestrained Glances

It has been related that the Prophet *saaws* once said words to the effect: "The glance is a poisoned arrow of shaytan. Whoever lowers his gaze for Allah, He will bestow upon him a refreshing sweetness which he will find in his heart on the day that he meets Him."

3. Too Much Food

Al-Miqdam ibn Ma'd Yakrib said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah *saaws* say: "The son of Adam fills no vessel more displeasing to Allah than his stomach. A few morsels should be enough for him to preserve his strength. If he must fill it, then he should allow a third for his food, a third for his drink and leave a third empty for easy breathing."

4. Keeping Bad Company

Allah's Apostle said, "The example of a good companion (who sits with you) in comparison with a bad one, is I like that of the musk seller and the blacksmith's bellows (or furnace); from the first you would either buy musk or enjoy its good smell while the bellows would either burn your clothes or your house, or you get a bad nasty smell thereof."

Nafs

Our worst enemy is our Nafs. A true warrior will fight his Nafs before fighting with others. A true warrior will recognise the enemy closer to home. A true warrior will realise that this Jihad an-Nafs is an ongoing battle.. for the stronger his imaan gets, the harder the battle becomes.. But the more he continues to fight, the more successful he becomes, in sha Allah..♥
