Four Poisons of the Heart

1. Unnecessary Talking

Umar Ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "A person who talks too much is a person who often makes mistakes, and someone who often makes mistakes, often has wrong actions. The Fire has a priority over such a frequent sinner."

2. Unrestrained Glances

It has been related that the Prophet *saaws* once said words to the effect: "The glance is a poisoned arrow of shaytan. Whoever lowers his gaze for Allah, He will bestow upon him a refreshing sweetness which he will find in his heart on the day that he meets Him."

3. Too Much Food

Al-Miqdam ibn Ma'd Yakrib said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah *saaws* say: "The son of Adam fills no vessel more displeasing to Allah than his stomach. A few morsels should be enough for him to preserve his strength. If he must fill it, then he should allow a third for his food, a third for his drink and leave a third empty for easy breathing."

4. Keeping Bad Company

Allah's Apostle said, "The example of a good companion (who sits with you) in comparison with a bad one, is I like that of the musk seller and the blacksmith's bellows (or furnace); from the first you would either buy musk or enjoy its good smell while the bellows would either burn your clothes or your house, or you get a bad nasty smell thereof."

Nafs

Our worst enemy is our Nafs. A true warrior will fight his Nafs before fighting with others. A true warrior will recognise the enemy closer to home. A true warrior will realise that this Jihad an-Nafs is an ongoing battle.. for the stronger his imaan gets, the harder the battle becomes.. But the more he continues to fight, the more successful he becomes, in sha Allah..♥

I remember, many years ago, hand in hand with you

You were so shy you didnt dare raise your head

You could only look up stupidly at the stars in the sky

When I learnt you had received notice of your promotion

In my heart, I had mixed feelings

Ramadan duas
FIRST ASHRA (first ten days [1-10]):
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Ramadan is composed of 30 days in total. This holy month has been divided into 3 Ashras, each Ashra has significance in the month of Ramadan. “Ashra’” is an arabic word for 10. So when we say an Ashra of Ramadan, we are pointing towards 10 days.

The first Ashra (first 10 days of Ramadan) signifies the bestowments of ALLAH Almighty’s Mercy. There are Dua’ s which can be recited so we can get maximum of what is being offered.

1st-ashra-dua (Dua for 1st 10 Days)
1."YA-HAYYU YA-WAYYUMU B...IRAHMATIKA ASTAGEES"
Translation: "O the Living, O the Eternal, I seek help in Your grace."
اے زندہ اور قائم رب! میں تیری رحمت کے حصول کی فریاد کرتا ہوں۔

2. رَّبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Rab-bigh-fir war-ham wa Anta Khair-ur-Raahimeen. (Surah Al Muminun:118)
"My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of those who show mercy!"

3.Ya Rabb, Allahumma arhamni Ya Arham-mar-Rahimeen

THE IDEAL MUSLIMAH

The believing woman needs to acquire much knowledge about her religion.

A Muslimah needs to know how to read the Qur’an properly with tajweed, and understand its meaning.

Then she should learn about:

The sciences of hadith
The seerah (biography) of the Prophet PBUH
History of the women of the Sahaabah and Taabi’een (generation of Muslims after the sahaabah.
Then she should acquire much knowledge of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) in order to ensure that her worship and daily dealings are correct. She needs to have a firm grasp of the basic principles of her religion.

The gates of knowledge are open to the Muslimah as long as it does not go against her feminine nature.

Foremost among them is the Mother of the Believers, ‘Aa’ishah rAa. She was the primary source of hadith and knowledge of the sunnah and was the first faqeehah (female jurist) in Islam.

Imam az-Zuhri said: “If the knowledge of ‘Aa’ishah were to be gathered up and compared to the knowledge of all the other wives of the Prophet PBUH and all other women, ‘Aa’ishah’s knowledge would be greater.” [Al-Istee’aab 4/1883]

‘Aa’ishah rAa had a curious mind and was always eager to learn. Whenever she heard about something she did not know, she would ask about it until she understood it. Her closeness to the Messenger of Allah PBUH meant that she was like a vessel full of knowledge.

So inshaAllah my fellow Muslimahs, let’s strive to gain knowledge as ‘Aa’ishah rAa did.

Make every page in the catalogue of your life be filled with designer items: clothes of taqwa, jewels of modesty, shoes of piety and the treasure of Iman


May ALLAH grant me a family full with love and Taqwa to ALLAH to be a better Mumin

Every person is accountable for everything that he does

“O my son! If it be (anything) equal to the weight of a grain of mustard seed, and though it be in a rock, or in the heavens or in the earth, Allah will bring it forth. Verily, Allah is Subtle (in bringing out that grain), WellAware (of its place). (Quran: Luqman: 16)

In the love of Allah سبحانه وتعالى and His Rasul

Once a person becomes immersed in the love of Allah سبحانه وتعالى and His Rasul صلى الله عليه وسلم, nothing else means anything at all as the person reaches such a degree of imaan

يا غلام ‏ ‏أو يا ‏ ‏غليم ‏ ‏ألا أعلمك كلمات ينفعك الله بهن فقلت بلى فقال ‏ ‏احفظ الله يحفظك احفظ الله تجده أمامك تعرف إليه في الرخاء يعرفك في الشدة وإذا سألت فاسأل الله وإذا استعنت فاستعن بالله قد جف القلم بما هو ‏ ‏كائن ‏ ‏فلو أن الخلق كلهم جميعا أرادوا أن ينفعوك بشيء لم يكتبه الله عليك لم يقدروا عليه وإن أرادوا أن يضروك بشيء لم يكتبه الله عليك لم يقدروا عليه واعلم أن في الصبر على ما تكره خيرا كثيرا وأن النصر مع الصبر وأن الفرج مع الكرب ‏ ‏وأن مع العسر يسرا
